Title

Amos Phillips Casualty Sheet

Subject

During War

Description

This resource shows that Phillips was reported wounded (unsigned) at the Battle of Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862. Phillips would later describe this as a gunshot wound, but medical records later in life are inconclusive and sometimes contradictory regarding the extent of his injuries. Phillips would recover, participating in other battles, including Gettysburg exactly one year later.
